Rolling out the Red carpet for UX Australia 2021’s keynote speakers part 1
We’re thrilled to announce our first two keynote speakers hitting the stage at UX Australia in August!
Scott Berkun
Bestselling author of eight books and keynote speaker Scott Berkun will open up UX Australia 2021. Dialling in from America, Scott will open the conference presenting ‘How Design Makes the World’. Based on his latest book, Scott will share lessons and stories from his career spanning across the decades to show you how to see your work and the world in a new way.
Born and raised in Queens, Scott studied philosophy, computer science and design and has worked for Microsoft, Windows and WordPress to name a few. His work has appeared in a number of publications including Forbes, The New York Times, The Economist and more.

Dori Tunstall
Dori Tunstall is a design anthropologist, researcher, academic, leader, writer, educator and all-around wonder woman. She is Dean of the Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design University and is the first black Dean of a faculty of design anywhere. Dori leads the Cultures-Based Innovation Initiative focused on using old ways of knowing to drive innovation processes that directly benefit communities.
Now based in Canada, Dori was the Associate Professor of Design here at Melbourne’s Swinburne university from 2009 - 2015. Previously she was the Associate Professor of Design Anthropology at the University of Illinois and she has held roles as a UX Strategist for Sapient Corporation and Arc Worldwide.
With a PhD and a Masters in Anthropology from Standard University and a Bachelors from Bryn Mawr College, Dori believes design and design technologies can be used to elevate human values. She suggests equality, democracy, fairness, integration, and connection can be made more tangible through design and used to make the world a better place.
