Social

One of the best parts of UX Australia is the social aspect. There’s plenty of chances to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

There will be plenty of time to chat over morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch breaks of course.

Tuesday 27 August

UX Melbourne is running a movie night, with a special appearance from Jeff Gothelf. Please RSVP so they know how many people are coming.

Wednesday 28 August

On Wednesday night there will be pre-conference drinks and nibbles in the Jim Stynes room at the MCG. Everyone who is attending workshops or the main conference is welcome to attend. You just need to bring your conference badge (or pick it up there).

Thursday 29 August – dinner groups

On Thursday 29 August, we’ll arrange for some attendees to book tables at local restaurants. In the morning we’ll put up dinner sign-up sheets, you can add your name to one and go out to dinner with a group.

These have been very popular in previous years – they are a great way to meet new people, and avoid the normal conference problem of trying to fit groups into booked-up restaurants.

Friday 30 August

When the conference finishes on Friday, we’ll head out to post-conference drinks at Beer DeLuxe at Federation Square. Again, bring your conference badge.

LinkedIn group

We’ve set up a UX Australia 2013 LinkedIn group. You can use this before the conference to chat with other attendees, arrange room-share, transport, dinners. Whatever you may like to talk to other folks about. We’ll keep it open after the conference so you can continue the discussion with people you’ve met.

It’s a closed group (to reduce spam) and may take a day or two for us to approve requests to join.

Related events

If you’re arranging something alongside the conference, please let us know. If it’s a community event we’ll let people know about it. If it’s a business event, you have to be a sponsor for us to promote it.
