Design Research 2023 is a three-day hybrid event that takes a deep dive into all things related to research for design work.
This year’s focus is on the many ways design research helps us understand, shape and address systemic issues from the level of individual products and services, and organisation structures, through to societal challenges such as climate change and inequality.
We will seek to explore the breadth of design research practices that contribute to these challenges at every level, from initial assessment to planning and conducting, and analysis and application.

Design Research 2023 will run as a hybrid-style event, hosted live in Melbourne and broadcast online via Zoom Webinar. Attendees and speakers can decide to join in person or online. Check out the full conference lineup.
At our conference, we try to provide a place for experienced speakers and new presenters to share their ideas and work. Talks are selected from a pool of submissions from those in the design community.
We will be looking for proposals that match the theme or approach it in an innovative way.
