Visual Thinking for Design Research

Design research can feel complex, especially when you’re working with experiences that involve abstract systems, concepts or themes.

How to make sense of all that complexity? Visuals! The use of pictures – when combined with words – can help you better relate to participants, clarify your insights, and communicate findings to stakeholders in a richer way.

In this practical workshop, you’ll learn the tools of visual thinking, a skillset that encompasses sketching, visual storytelling, and working visually at different stages of the research process. We’ll take you from sketching basic shapes, to drawing characters and emotions, to creating storyboards and illustrations. No drawing skills required!

This workshop will operate online via Zoom on Wednesday March 17, 1:30 pm
