Nathan Wall
Nathan is an information architect and content strategist working for the New Zealand government. He has more 14 years experience creating web sites, online tools and transactional services both in New Zealand and in Australia.
Nathan is still technically an Aussie but has called New Zealand home for the last 10 years. He’s been part of the development of Inland Revenue’s online services; he has helped the New Zealand Passport Office transform its online presence working as the Senior Advisor to the online programme of the Department of Internal Affairs.
More recently he’s been part of the team implementing the NZ Government Common Web Services Platform and is now part of the team creating govt.nz a site that is rethinking the way people in New Zealand find government information online and interact with government services.
In 2011 Nathan helped assemble an all-of-government team to coordinate the social media response of agencies to the Canterbury Earthquakes. Working closely with staff in the National Crisis Management Centre the team then known as @CEQGovtNZ spent nine weeks pushing out updates, civil defence information and moral support to people in the Canterbury area.
As well as information architecture, Nathan specialises in web content management, service design and usability testing. He is passionate about user-centred design, web standards, accessibility, and plain English.
