Judy Knighton

Judy Knighton has been a writer, editor, and publications developer of government and corporate documents for more than 30 years. As a writer and editor for a broad range of government and private-sector organisations, she has applied her clear writing skills to topics as diverse as climate change, insurance, incident investigation, health and safety, and disability awareness.

Judy’s passion is making sure that documents meet the needs of their readers — and working with organisations to help them see how reader-friendly documents benefit the bottom line. User testing documents allows her to isolate what needs to change in a document, and to validate her editing decisions. Recent projects that included user testing were a series of investment statements for a major Australasian bank, and Work and Income New Zealand forms for the recent round of benefit reforms.
