Jared Gulian
Jared works as a web strategist and advisor to the New Zealand government, where he specialises in improving interactions between users and digital government services. He has over 13 years of experience with website development and electronic publishing, including all-of-government strategy, cross-government collaboration, social media strategy, content marketing, site launch and management, information architecture, and usability.
In 2011 he was project lead on New Zealand’s all-of-government social media guidelines, which were praised by IT research firm Gartner as being the best in the world. He is now Product Owner for the development of the flagship government website for New Zealanders, govt.nz. His government experience includes work in New Zealand for the Department of Internal Affairs, the Food Safety Authority, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, and Wellington City Council, as well as work in the United States for the Chicago Department of Public Health.
With several award-winning website projects under his belt, Jared has a keen understanding of user-centred design, an appreciation for cost-effective website delivery, and a strong grasp of the increasingly important role that digital delivery of information and services plays in the government sector.
