Graphic facilitation: See what I mean?
Usability expert and educator Jared Spool asserts that “the five indispensable skills for UX mastery are: presenting, critiquing, storytelling, sketching, and facilitating.”
How many of these do you regularly practice during your UX projects?
We all know that sketching is a valuable tool for generating and refining ideas, but most of us fail to capitalise on it as a communication and collaboration tool−often because we don’t think to use it, we consider it too difficult or we lack the confidence to give it a go.
Reading about how to graphically facilitate a meeting doesn’t really cut it—we need to do it to really learn.
This hands-on session is your opportunity to broaden and refine your UX skill set. It will upgrade your abilities and prepare you to use graphic facilitation in your next meeting by helping you:
- Understand the role of graphic facilitation and its place in the business world.
- Gain renewed confidence in the fundamentals of sketching, information hierarchy and visual thinking.
- Expand your mental library of imagery with a visual vocabulary.
- Learn tips on how to quickly capture information in a large-scale canvas, such as a flip chart or whiteboard.
- Practice graphic facilitation in a group environment.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of sketching or drawing ability. If you want to improve your visual communication skills then you need to be at this session.
