We’re customer centric now

Recent years have seen a surge in organisations “putting their customer first” or being more “customer centric.” This has meant growing pressure on both private and public sector organisations to hire in and/or build internal design capability.

But how do you do this? Especially in organisations that are weighed down by layers of bureaucracy, and are traditionally risk averse and resistant to change? And where does design expertise fit in if everyone is a designer?

What we’ll cover:

Like design itself, building capability is an iterative and collaborative process. In this presentation:

• Nous shares the trials and triumphs of working with local and state government teams, public authorities and not-for-profit organisations to understand and embed human centred approaches, the role of design experts and what it’s like to “do design“ in front of the client

• In true human-centred style, Nous’s clients also contribute their own perspectives and experiences of being the client of a design project and how they’ve maintained a momentum for design long after the consultants have left the building.

• You’ll also have an opportunity to reflect on your own practice and experience in building design confidence and capability in others.
