Neil Davidson

Neil Davidson is the Creative Director for CMD Strategy | Design | Innovation where his scope of work covers all aspects of their clients strategic, creative and tactical new product development needs.

Starting his career as a CMD intern while completing a Graduate Diploma of Industrial Design at Queensland University of Technology, Neil has gone on to professionally grow with the company and now helps manage CMD’s large and multidisciplinary design team.

A career standout for Neil involved the design of the 2005 Cox Stockman Tractor. The Stockman was well received in the Lawn Tractor market and went on to receive an Australian Design Award of the Year Nomination, an Australian Design Award and a Powerhouse Selection Award.

Outside of CMD, and in years past, Neil was the Senior Lecturer of Design for Manufacturing and Manufacturing Technology at the Queensland University of Technology.

My personal interests range from learning about new technology, reading Science Fiction to art and traveling.

Design passions and personal research areas include; Future Transportation and motorcycle design, Home wares and Furniture, Timepieces, Lighting Design, Environmental Sustainability, Materials and Manufacturing Technology.

Leonardo Da Vinci, Raymond Lowey, Syd Mead, Dieter Rams, Massimo Tamburini and Mitsuyoshi Kohama are inspirational people and designers for me.
