James Burgess

James Burgess is an expert technical writer and information designer. He specialises in communicating complex technical information to audiences that run the gamut from experts and industry, to government and the public. With his technical background, he can use specialist language when needed. He can write in plain language for a general audience, without loss of meaning or necessary detail.

James came to Write after seven years in Brussels, where he worked at the interface of transport and telecommunications. He is used to working across nationalities, languages, and sectors.

He has written and reviewed technical specifications and standards, working processes, and procedures. He has written for websites, and also scoped their technical specifications. James has drafted proposals and tenders for multi-million euro projects. He has advised government agencies in New Zealand how to present graphical information more effectively. His work on policy has included material for policy itself, and for its promotion by government.
