Penny Hagen

Penny Hagen mentors design teams and clients in the use of co-design methods and assists organisations to take a collaborative and design-led approach to the development of organisational process, strategy, products and services. Over the last 15 years Penny has designed and led a range of participatory online and interactive projects in Australia and New Zealand working across community, commercial and academic sectors.

Prior to starting her strategic design consultancy Smallfire in 2009 Penny was the Projects Director and Design Strategist at social design agency, Digital Eskimo. In 2011 Penny completed her PhD on participation in design using social technologies. Penny is currently the User Experience Director at Digital Arts Network (DAN) in Auckland. She contributes to curriculum develop for design and business subjects at the Auckland University of Technology and remains a Visiting Scholar at the University of Technology, Sydney.
