How to design microinteractions

This hands-on workshop will teach you how to design microinteractions, to make sure your product is as interesting and engaging as it can be.

We’ll walk through the structure of microinteractions: Triggers, Rules, Feedback, and Loops/Modes. We’ll examine and discuss each one, then perform specific exercises to work with each.

In the morning, we’ll dive into Triggers, both manual and system, which start the microinteraction. Then we’ll get into the Rules of the microinteraction, and talk about how to come up with Rules that define what can and cannot be done. In the afternoon, we’ll work on Feedback, Loops, and Modes, before putting it all together to improve some dull microinteractions.

This is a very hands-on workshop, with many exercises, so come prepared to sketch and think!
