The design studio: Creativity and problem solving through teamwork

This workshop will help you learn how to work in small teams in a studio environment to solve design problems successfully. Working in teams of 5 to 7 people, participants will engage in a collaborative design process to tackle a real world problem. Previous workshops have looked at problem spaces such as food banks, inner city parking, urban cycling, and traffic control.

Students will do research, design and prototype a solution, and then critique the designs. This will be an intense bootcamp in studio design practice, dedicating a short portion of the day to each part of the practice.

Target audience

This workshop is aimed at intermediate or experienced designers who have typically worked alone or in a non-studio environment.
