Change Agents at Object Gallery

In December 2009 Object Gallery invited us to respond to a statement addressing the challenges of sustainability in design. We chose to use this opportunity to introduce the Change Agents project, which is a collaboration between Digital Eskimo and the Creative Industries Innovation Centre (CIIC) at the University of Technology, Sydney. The project’s aim is to co-create an open source resource toolkit which will aid the Australian design industry as it responds to the challenges of climate change and a low carbon economy.

The cross-disciplinary project was an experiment in the creation of an interactive physical installation, the results of which would inform the strategic work as the project evolved. Our presentation will focus on the process we followed as well as the results of the public’s interactions. We will also compare the Object Gallery experience with a second revision of the installation, which is soon to be displayed at ACMI for the State of Design conference in Melbourne.
