Managing Design 2018 is a single-track conference on the topic of how Design Management happens, focusing primarily on the Australian context.
It will include a half day leadership summit (May 9, 1-5pm) and one day of conference talks (May 10, 9am - 5pm). Attendees can come to one or both days.
This will be the third time we've run a conference on this topic - the feedback from last year's conference was that it was excellent and very useful.
As Design grows in status towards being a critical business function for organisations of all shapes and sizes, the challenges of creating, building and managing design teams also grow. Whether you are leading an internal design team or running a design agency; team structure, engagement models with the business, culture, and professional development are all factors that affect the success of Design.
This conference will explore these challenges, with insight from people directly involved in the management of Design and Design's role in delivering strategic value to the business at all levels from the C-Suite down.
The conference will be focused on the Australian design community, with presentations by local speakers and opportunities to share experiences with each other.
This conference is for anyone who is responsible for figuring out how to get design done in an organisation, managing the design discipline or team; or simply looking to improve the way you do design. Even if you are part of a small design team and want to learn how others have managed design, communicated and influenced; there will be something for you.
Managing Design 2018 is proudly run by the team at UX Events: Steve Baty, Sarah Boyd, Amber Maurer, Andy Nguyen and Ricky Onsman, plus some fabulous volunteers.
