Tim Kariotis

Tim is a PhD Candidate at The University of Melbourne exploring contextual integrity and electronic health records in mental health care. Outside of uni, Tim works as a consultant on projects in the public health and health service design space. Tim's experience as a carer of someone with a complex mental illness has shaped his interest in the design of the mental health care sector. Having gone through the arduous 're-telling the story' situation too many times to count, Tim became interested in information and people's experience of 'their story.' This interest in 'the story' and having grown up in a rapidly digitising world has inspired Tim to understand how we improve information continuity across services using technology, while also respecting the sensitive and personal nature of each individuals story. Tim is also a current trainee in the Australasian College of Health Informatics Fellowship Program and is a scholar with the Melbourne Networked Society Institute.
