Creating mobile experiences that matter

Rod Farmer, Anton Sher

Designing engaging mobile experiences is complicated, and not simply a case of designing for small form factors. Mobile experience designers must overcome lack of standards adoption, limited interoperability, massive platform fragmentation, rapid device evolution, poor content portability, and most importantly, the challenges of mobile interaction.

In an attempt to shed some light on the dark arts of mobile design, Rod Farmer (Mobile Experience) and Anton Sher (Front Foot) present as a case study the conception, design, development and multi-channel delivery strategy of the recent AIMIA awarding winning “Best mobile product or service” – 3 Mobile iPortal. Moreover, this presentation provides key insights into designing for different devices and platforms, creating touch mobile experiences, building product awareness and delivering business value.

Delegates attending this presentation will walk away with a better understanding of:

  • Developing an effective mobile strategy
  • Building mobile conversations and relationships that create sticky products
  • How to select the right design and development tools
  • Designing customer-aware mobile experiences for emerging smartphones
  • Handling device detection and standards integration
  • Leveraging multi-channel mobile marketing campaigns
