10-minute talks: Get ready

7 June 2010

At UX Australia 2009, we found ourselves with spare timeslots due to cancellations. We brainstormed what to do with them and decided to try 10-minute talks – 4 short talks in 40 minutes, directly after lunch.

They were a hit! The talks were fantastic and attendees loved the pace and change of energy.

So naturally, we are going to do it again.

How it works:

  • We have space for 16 x 10-minute talks
  • July 1-9: You can submit a proposal (it will just be a title, 50 word description and 50 word bio)
  • July 10-16: If we get more proposals than spots, we’ll get attendees to vote
  • July 17: We notify successful speakers. Yay!
  • All 10-minute talks are audio-recorded and we’ll load slides and audio to the conference website

But there are two very important pieces of ‘fine print’:

  • 10-minute talks are only available to people who have registered and paid by 30 June
  • 10-minute talk presenters don’t get free conference passes

So start thinking about what you might like to share in 10 minutes. And register now to be notified when we are ready for proposals.
